Gaire Blunt Scholarship

One scholarship each year to the value of $5,000, offered by the Business Law Section of the Law Council of Australia, aimed at junior career practitioners.  Applications must submit a 10,000 word paper on a competition law topic, usually in early January each year.

Aurora Native Title Internship Program

The Aurora Project was established in 2006 as a result of a report into the professional development needs of lawyers at Native Title Representative Bodies. The Aurora Project co-ordinates internships for students and graduates in Law. Applications usually open in March each year.

Fulbright Scholarship

The Australian-American Fulbright Commission offers a range of postgraduate, postdoctoral, senior and professional scholarships allowing candidates to research or study in America for 3-12 months. Applications usually open in June each year.

The Rhodes Scholarships Australia

The Rhodes Scholarship is a postgraduate award supporting outstanding all-round students at the University of Oxford. Each year, there are nine scholarships available in Australia.  To be eligible to apply for a Rhodes Scholarship to Oxford, candidates must be Australian citizens, be aged between 18 and 25 years by 1 October and must have completed (or expect to complete in the current year) their degree with first class honours.

Applications usually close each September.

Sir Robert Menzies Memorial Scholarship in Law

The Sir Robert Menzies Memorial Foundation and the Sir Robert Menzies Memorial Trust (UK) offer postgraduate scholarships in law for tenure at a university in the United Kingdom.  Applications usually close in August each year.

Lionel Murphy Foundation Scholarship

A number of Australian and overseas postgraduate scholarships are awarded annually by the Trustees of the Lionel Murphy Foundation.

These scholarships are known as the Lionel Murphy Postgraduate Scholarships.  The number of scholarships awarded each year, and the method of payment, is determined by the Trustees in their absolute discretion.

Aberdeen University Studentship in Law

The University of Aberdeen School of Law offers two to five fee bursaries each year, for LLM and PhD research projects in fields where the University can offer supervision. Applications usually close in June of each year.

Anne Wexler Australian-American Public Policy Scholarships

The Anne Wexler Scholarship aims to grow Australian-American educational linkages by awarding an Australian graduate a scholarship to complete a full U.S. Masters in Public Policy.  Applications usually close in September each year.

The General Sir John Monash Awards

The General Sir John Monash Foundation offers up to eight scholarships per year for postgraduate study at a non-Australian university.  Candidates must be Australian citizens who have completed (or expect to complete this year) their degree from an Australian University. Monash Awards are valued at up to AUD $150,000 over three years.

In addition to academic excellence, candidates for these awards must be able to demonstrate outstanding leadership ability and community service. Applications usually close in August each year.

AustCham China Scholarship Program

The scholarship is designed for students who have a long term passion for strengthening Australia's economic relationship with China through their business or cultural pursuits.  A typical candidate will be in their final year of studies (or have recently graduated) and have undertaken China-focused work experience or academic studies.  The scholarship includes return flights to China, job placements, language training, a stipend, accommodation support and more.  Applications usually open in February each year and close in July.

Australian College of Community Association Lawyers Scholarship

For graduates of any discipline who wish to pursue advanced postgraduate study in the law relating to Strata Law or a related field.  Applications (PDF, 60KB) usually close in October each year.
