ANU College of Law Excellence in Education Awards

Education is not the filling of a bucket, but the lighting of a fire - W.B. Yeats

The ANU College of Law Excellence in Education Awards help us to celebrate the teachers who guide, inspire, motivate and facilitate learning. Students and staff members are invited to voice their opinion about who you feel deserves special recognition for excellence in education programs at ANU College of Law.

Show gratitude to someone who contributed to your learning . . . Inspire more excellent teaching . . . Share your experience with the world.

Award process

Nominations

Staff can be nominated by students or colleagues. Nominations usually open in September and close at the end of October each year.

Nominees

Nominated staff will be notified of their nomination and will be allowed to withdraw from consideration, if they so choose. Nominees will not be expected or allowed to submit materials in support of their nomination.

Deliberation

Nominations will be considered by a Selection Committee appointed by the Associate Dean. The Selection Committee will then make recommendations for awards to the College Education Committee and awards will be approved by the Dean of the College.

Awards

Successful nominees will receive an award and $1,000 prize.

Eligibility

In 2010, both staff and students from any program in the College of Law are invited to nominate any teacher in the College of Law for an Excellence in Education Award. All academic staff at the College are eligible for nomination: full-time or fractional; continuing or contract. Nominations can be made for any aspect of teaching.

Nominators

The Selection Committee will rely heavily on the information you provide in your nomination. Please provide as many concrete details and stories as possible to illustrate how your nominee is outstanding in education.
