Enrolment day & introductory lecture
Enrolment day: Wednesday 25 January
2.00 - 5.30 Law Theatre
(including introductory lecture at 4.30)
In 2012 we will be offering an intensive version of the introductory course LAWS1201 Foundations of Australian Law (FAL). This intensive FAL course will be offered in addition to the usual Semester One version of the course. Following the introductory lecture (see above) you will be required to engage with course material prior to the first class. Classes will run from Monday 30 January to 13 February 2012 with the final assessment task to be completed by 17 February 2012.
For new JD students, this intensive version of the course is a prerequisite for undertaking LAWS1206 Criminal Law and Procedure in Semester One 2012. Accordingly, if you are intending to be a full-time student who has completed 4 law courses by the end of Semester One 2012, you must take the intensive version of LAWS1201 in January/February. You will then be able to take LAWS1203 Torts; LAWS1204 Contracts and LAWS1206 Criminal Law and Procedure in Semester One.
Students who are happy to complete three or fewer courses by the end of Semester One may enrol in the semester length version of LAWS1201 Foundations of Australian Law together with LAWS1203 Torts (for a part-time enrolment) or with the addition of LAWS1204 Contracts (for a full-time enrolment).
You cannot undertake LAWS1206 Criminal Law and Procedure unless you have already completed the intensive version of LAWS1201 Foundations of Australian Law.
