Personal statement
As part of your UAC or online application, you are required to submit a personal statement of a maximum of 600 words setting out any factors that you believe will enhance your application.
Transferring from another university
If you are applying to transfer from another university, you also apply through UAC. At least 50 per cent of the degree must be completed at the ANU in order to obtain an ANU JD.
You can expect to receive some status for previous recent law studies. The quantum of status will depend upon the structure of your program of prior study and in many cases will not amount to full credit for previous studies. The degree at the ANU will normally have to be completed within ten years of the commencement of the first course for which you were granted status.
Status will not be granted for law courses that have counted towards the completion of another award but exemptions may apply.
Fees
A number of Commonwealth-supported places (CSP) will be allocated to the most highly qualified applicants.
Additional places will be offered on a tuition-fee paying basis.
Domestic Tuition Fees (DTF) in 2012 are $2,550 per 6unit course or $20,400 for a full year (48 units)
International Student Fees (ISF) in 2012 are $3,414 per 6 unit course or $27,312 for full year (48 units)
