A distinctive program for graduates

The Australian National University Juris Doctor (JD) is a distinctive Program for graduates of non-law disciplines (or non-Australian law graduates).

This Program will give you the academic qualifications for admission to practice in Australia.  You will be able to choose from a wide range of law electives, with opportunities to focus on research.

You can study full or part-time, with entry points in February and July.

Why choose the Juris Doctor at ANU?

Our lecturers and supervisors are experts in their fields, creating innovative courses in a unique campus environment.  ANU has an excellent reputation in Australia and overseas. We promote an ethos of law reform and social justice.

We are part of the International Alliance of Research Universities (IARU) - a collaboration between ten of the world's leading research-intensive universities who share similar visions for higher education, in particular the education of future leaders.

Our Canberra location means easy access to the nation's key law making institutions - the Parliament and the High Court of Australia.  Join other graduates who have decided to undertake the challenging study of law.
