Accessing Law Groupwise web email
You are able to access your law email account from anywhere in the world via a web browser. However, you will need to set up a password for your email account beforehand. This is done via the Groupwise client, instructions as follows:
1. In the main Groupwise window, go to Tools=>Options
2. Double click Security, followed by the Password tab
3. Enter the password into the New password and Confirm new password fields
4. Optional: place a tick into the tickbox No passowrd required with eDirectory, this option will automatically log you into Groupwise when you have logged into your workstation or the Novell client when off campus. If you don't enable this option, you will be required to enter your Groupwise password each time to load the Groupwise client.
5. Click OK followed by Close. Once you have set up your password, test it by going to the link below and enter your Law username and Groupwise email password.
Synchronising Groupwise email, calendar and contacts with smartphones and mobile devices (eg. iPads, Samsung Tablet...etc)
Groupwise mailbox, calendar and contacts can be synchronised with most modern smartphones and mobile devices, eg. iPhones, iPads, and tablet devices (with the Android operating system).
The following instructions will step you through the process of configuring your device. Please note, these instruction will vary slightly between devices, but will work for most:
2. Enter the following details:
- Email: username@law.anu.edu.au
- Domain: leave blank
- Username: your workstation username
- Password: Novell login password, the one used to login to your workstation
- Description: Groupwise (used to distinguish between the various email account that you set up)
- Accept SSL certificates: this setting may not be available, if it is please place a tick to accept the SSL certificate
3. Click Next, your device will now try to locate your mailbox and once it is found, you will prompt your for a server address. The server address is:
- lawmobsvr.anu.edu.au
4. Hit Next
5. Select the additional item types you would like to synchronise with your device, calendar and/or contacts
- when you are prompted, it is recommended that you choose to leave existing contacts and calendar items on your device.
6. Once you have finalised configuring your account, your device will start to synchronise with the Groupwise system. Depending on the size of your mailbox it may take a some time to perform the initial sync and pull down all of your items selected
There are a number of settings that you can change to manage how your device behaves, eg frequency of sychronisation, number of days worth of items to sync...etc. To modify these settings and more, go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and select the Groupwise account=>account details

NB: The password being used is the same password used to login to your work computer. When you are prompted to change your workstation password you must also update the password on your device.
